Dr Maddison Bone
Director & Chiropractor
The first time you hold your baby, everything changes. Your body has spent months adapting, growing, and preparing for that moment, and the right support along the way can shape how you experience every stage. Dr Maddy is a chiropractor, co-founder of Kinfolk Chiropractic Centre, and a practitioner whose clinical focus is built around the families who walk through her door.
From the Otways to the Clinic
Dr Maddy grew up on a dairy and potato farm in the Otway region. That upbringing gave her a practical understanding of how physical work affects the body, and an appreciation for the kind of healthcare that fits real life in a rural community.
After leaving the region, she spent nearly a decade in Melbourne studying and working as a chiropractor. She completed a double Bachelor of Health Science and Applied Science (Chiropractic) at RMIT University before practising across multiple clinics, including Buchanan Family Chiropractic. It was during this time that her interest in pregnancy and paediatric chiropractic deepened into a clinical focus.
Returning home to Colac was always the plan. In partnership with Dr Peter Papadimitriou, Dr Maddy co-founded Kinfolk Chiropractic Centre to provide the kind of care she felt the region deserved: thorough, personalised, and family-centred.
Pregnancy, Paediatric, and Family Chiropractic Care
Dr Maddy is especially passionate about walking alongside mothers. The physical, emotional, and neurological changes that happen from preconception through postpartum are significant, and having appropriate support during this time can make a meaningful difference for the whole family.
She holds her Webster Certification through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and regularly attends seminars in prenatal and paediatric chiropractic. Her post-graduate training in pregnancy and paediatric care informs the way she works with women at every stage: preconception, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and early childhood.
Her approach centres on the nervous system and the body’s capacity to adapt and function well. She believes pregnancy is purposeful and powerful, birth is to be understood and supported, and that children thrive when the nervous system is functioning well.
Families seek Dr Maddy for support during these foundational stages because this focus is at the heart of her work. She is committed to guiding families through these years and to raising the standard of pregnancy and paediatric chiropractic care in the Colac region.
Clinical Approach
Dr Maddy’s approach to care is shaped by three principles:
- Listen and understand: Every family is different. Her consultations begin by understanding your health history, your goals, and what matters to you.
- Nervous system focus: Chiropractic care at Kinfolk centres on the relationship between spinal health and nervous system function. Dr Maddy’s assessments and adjustments are designed to support how the body adapts across different stages of life.
- Ongoing learning: Dr Maddy regularly attends post-graduate seminars in chiropractic techniques and health and wellbeing, because she believes families deserve care that reflects the latest training and understanding.
